This role is a great opportunity to join an exciting and forward-thinking business for an organised but creative individual. The role will be based in Holborn, London but you will be required to travel regularly to our buildings in Cardiff and Hatfield, and across the UK as we grow.

The role will be focussed on planning and execution of a varied calendar of student events, from party planning to motivational talks and yoga classes. The Events Coordinator will take charge and lead the implementation of a yearlong calendar of events in Fusion Student properties.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Onsite events

  • Work with our National Sales Manager to plan a varied events calendar
  • You will project plan and deliver our global programme of events, building our events programme – working with teams across the business to create and deliver a comprehensive programme of events which supports our business objectives
  • Developing and bringing to life exciting creative concepts that reflect the brand
  • Project management of agenda and content – you will be responsible for coordinating with relevant teams across the business, and externally such as suppliers and agencies when necessary
  • Operations and logistics – you will coordinate staffing, event scheduling and on-the-day logistics to ensure events run smoothly
  • Reporting- you will ensure that all events contribute to overall business objectives, measuring the success of each event, and using results to optimise our future events calendar
  • Market research – carry out market research with students to ensure we are always delivering the correct events for them
  • Driving attendance – coordinating relevant teams to timeline manage appropriate invitation, marketing and attendance lists for relevant events. You will also drive the thinking behind our approach to paid-for event tickets
  • Venues and suppliers – you will source, coordinate, negotiate, and liaise with venues and third party suppliers to deliver high-quality, on-brand events
  • Budgeting – you will have responsibility for full event budgets, demonstrating best value procurement and delivering events within budget
  • Regular activities such as weekly yoga classes, beauty pop-ups and use of our Wellness Room in Zenith
  • Event planning and execution
  • Liaise with marketing and design team to publicise and promote the event
  • Fully brief the team at site level

Promotional events

  • Work with our Marketing team
  • Management of suppliers and agencies
  • Ensure Marketing, events and onsite teams are working in union
  • Plan events calendar in line with marketing campaigns, to a specific objective e.g. data collection, brand awareness, incentive awareness
  • Increase bookings and viewings

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience: 3+ years’ experience organising both small events and large conferences – from 5 to 500 delegates – either solely, or as part of a team.
  • Experience leading the development and delivery of small and large and scale events from scratch (including concept, creative, content, location, budget and logistics).
  • Experience managing large budgets and delivering events within those budgets.
  • Highly-organised and methodical – you have a structured approach to task management, and working to deadlines Leadership – you are able to motivate and coordinate people across the business to achieve objectives.
  • Third party management – you know how to select, negotiate with, and manage vendors to get the best result for the best price.
  • Passion for the industry – you keep up to date on what competitors and market leaders are doing and how the industry is changing.
  • Creative approach – you have a track record of delivering stand-out creative events. You’re passionate about building the best event programme possible. You keep up to date on what competitors are doing and how the wider events industry is changing. You can advise the business on innovative new approaches.
