Tell us about your business?
We are an events and marketing business that was set up during my second year at Cardiff Metropolitan University. The company primarily focuses on events but we also do marketing and design work.
What was the driving force for you to start your business?
I have always been passionate about business and have has a keen interest in music from a young age. It was natural for me to want to get into the music industry, which is our primary sector.
What are your businesses’ core values?
Our core values are innovation, creativity and togetherness.
How do you overcome setbacks?
We have had many setbacks over the years, as with most businesses. We have overcome this with open, honest dialogue and a strong resilience, which is important for any business owner to have in their skill set.
If you had one piece of advice for students setting out their own business, what would it be?
Don’t be afraid to fail, as the best lessons are often when things don’t work out the way you had hoped. As well as this, it’s crucial to not let your work take over your life. Find time each day to focus on family, friends and your hobbies.
Are there any other brands within your sector that you are following at the moment?
We love to follow Abode, who have really set the standard for events companies. Another brand is Social Chain, who are one of the most exciting young teams in marketing. They do some great informative videos that I have used in my own business many times.
What has your biggest achievement been so far?
Our biggest achievement so far was one of our music festivals which we grew from 500 capacity to 5000 in just 3 years.
