12 MUST HAVE STOCKING FILLERS | UNDER £25
Christmas stockings are a tradition amongst millions of families all across the world. But how did it start? It is thought that they first became a tradition in the 1800s. According to the tale, St. Nicholas was wandering through a town when he overheard villagers discussing a family’s plight. He wanted to help but thought that the father would refuse any act of charity. At night he visited their home, crawled down the chimney and filled the daughter’s stockings with bags of gold. Whilst we’ll never know for sure if the story is true, filling up a jumbo-sized sock with treats, small gifts and silly things is always a great way to celebrate Christmas!
